Michigan community is thrilled to be getting a Starbucks
"They serve a product that young, urban people want," says Cindy Larsen, president of the Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce. "Having them locate in Muskegon is a signal we are a community of the future." (Muskegon, Mich. Chronicle)
Is it Starbucks policy to pour half-full cups of coffee? More and more I receive cups that are nowhere near full. That's after I specify "no room for cream." I learned that lesson when I once answered that I DID want room for cream and I got a cup with about three inches empty. Have a little coffee with your cream?
This kind of policy would be a great way to increase profits without raising prices. It would also probably be an unfair business practice here in California. Does anyone know whether Starbucks has documented a "no full cup" policy?

Several Starbucks in the Chicago downtown area have self-serve coffee urns during the rush hour. So I don't know how wide of a corporate policy there is on this, if one at all. I appreciate a little room so I don't burn fingers when walking, and that's usually what they pour for me.
cheers

I was hoping some one could help me understand the draw to Starbucks, and why over the years it has become a community in and of it self. Please email me with any comments about this, it will help me with a paper I am writing for my english class at emu.

You probably had a new partner getting the coffee. New partners are scared of buring themselves or filling the cup too full and the customer getting burned. I had that problem when I first started. Then, a customer looked in a cup I'd given them, and asked if I could fill it more up. That's what solved it for me.

I've hit a lot of Starbucks in my travels. I had to share that there is a gal by the name of Teri @ the Starbucks on the corner of center/court in Flint ,Mi. She has consistantly made the best nonfat cappuccino I have ever had ! Always yummy creamy foam ! This gal could seriously teach a class on perfect foam. Thnx Teri !! M
