"Inside the Starbucks in Lebec, Calif. you can see ash alongside the trim of the cafe's walls"
A blogger sits at Starbucks and writes about the spreading California fires: "The laptop on which this is being written has a notable coat of ash on the keys and laptop’s surface, because each time a Starbucks customer walks in, more ash blows in." Any other California fire reports from Starbucks customers/employees? (Moderate Voice)
>Starbucks has closed about 120 of its stores due to the fires
How many Starbucks stores are located in California?

Starbucks has over 2000 stores in Calif. Here's where I got the info.

What is the evidence that the Lebec store is the businest in North America?
Last I looked, the busiest stores were all in NYC or in Annapolis Harbor, Md.

We did not open our store today because alot of my partners got evacuated late last night. Myself and 2 other partner went to store and placed a cambro and pastries out on the patio while we placed and put away orders. We even refilled it several times. Some customers were very greetful and others were very rude.
San Diego is on fire and people still get upset at Starbucks because we are giving them free coffee and pastries.
One lady told me that she couldn't believe I wasn't open. I asked her if she was working today and of course she said no.
I told her even though the store is in the safe area my partners are in an area that had to get evacuated.
For those few hours I heared some thanks but most of the comments were "what your not open" "why?"
FIRE!!!!!

I just wanted to let all the partners know in the effected areas, as part of the Starbucks family, we are constantly thinking about you. If you're willing to brave the frigid blizzards of New England then come on over to Boston. I hope Starbucks is donating at least some Ethos water to the shelters there. People, should not be unhappy that Starbucks is not opened because I am sure the supply chain has been severely disrupted. I mean are you guys getting your dairy, Carson Valley and paper orders. Business continuity is important and it cannot be done unless partners are taken care of first.

Boston,
Yes we are donating coffee, pastries, and sandwiches to their local shelters/centers. We and other stores had no power so all pastries and sandwiches went to shelters/centers. We are getting deliveries but the drivers aren't very smart because they are delivered to stores that had no power. When we got to the store our milk temped 53 degrees, big waste of 74gals of milk.
So far with the 911 reverse warning calls people are getting out of our homes in time.

wow. my heart goes out to all affected partners...if boston isn't your thing, come to tennessee!

It never ceases to amaze me that people get upset when Starbucks is closed during a holiday or something like this. People need to have a little compassion and understanding, but they clearly can't think beyond themselves.
Anyway, my heart and thoughts to the folks in California dealing with this. I hope it's over soon.

Thanks for all of the support- one of our partners lost their home yesterday (there may be more that I don't know about), and it was the most devestating moment for me. They were told to evacuate, and within minutes her house was up in flames. It was a beautiful home that she worked really, really, really hard for. My heart hurts for these partners...

I'd also like to thank my fellow partners for your support. We've had many partners evacuated from their homes this week. Luckily, we've gotten in touch with all of them and they are okay, yet displaced.
Oh, and yes, our store has somehow remained open. Fortunately, we're located near several hotels (which currently house many evacuees)...so at least we're serving some part of the community that really needs it.
But I'm pretty sure my store would remain open during a nuclear holocaust.

Thoughts and prayers out to those of you affected by the fires. My wife and father-in-law are both wildland firefighters, so I have some familiarity with the dangers, but I cannot even pretend to imagine the pain of losing a home to fire. Bless you all, and to those of you insulted for not being open, take solace in the few who are thankful and in knowing you are doing what is right.

So we are outsourcing our distribution dept and the company with a heart is getting rid of about 300 jobs company wide. Yes we are being offered a severence or other positions (at a reduced wage) But don't you think that this multi million dollar co. could have just invested in the facilities to do the job right? Oh thats right we just outsourced are partner services at the sco level also...

Starbucks has never laid people off before...the beginning of the end?

Starbucks fires people all the time, but usually let the useless people stay. Jabanga would you agree?

Firing yes...but lay offs? Never before.

I'll confirm that the DC's are outsourcing those jobs to save money. They decided it almost a year ago...

Be careful- I think ash contains cancer causing compounds.
