Good news!: Starbucks adds money to registered Starbucks cards
Your Starbucks Gossip webmaster got $5 added to his card. The e-mailed message said: "We love seeing you. That's why we're passing the cheer to you by automatically loading $5 onto your Starbucks card. And what better way to use your gift than to try (or treat a friend to) a delicious Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte or Eggnog Latte."
Hmmm, I just checked my registered acct and nothing's been added to mine. Do they not love seeing ME?

I feel hated; no $$$ on my card eiths!

it does NOT happen universally to all registered cards.
I have had it happen to at least one of mine a few times each year, but there is no rhyme/reason to when they do it.

That's just the money that fell off Howard's desk.

There must be a way they are tracking usage. Maybe someone who averages a certain usage in a set time gets $5 added as a reward? No idea, but lucky you for getting a bonus. Then again there is always the question of do they know that you are the guy running this site which put Starbucks in a pretty good image and are rewarding you for that? Either way enjoy it!

We love surprising and delighting our customer whether it be with a few extra dollars on your Starbucks card or are silver tongued attitude.

I rec'd the $5, but my husband, who uses his card a lot more than I use mine, did not. Last time they did the bonuses, we both got one.

That would be cool if everyone got it on their birthday!

I'm so excited to see what kind of press the Pass the Cheer initiatives are going to generate. In my corner of the world, they're going to pay the tolls all day on one particular toll road.

Pass the Beer... the holidays are coming.
I'm gonna miss the Holiday Traditions Keeper.

Oh the Holiday Traditions Keeper. One of the most disturbing things I've ever seen from marketing.

I've only been around for six months - what, pray tell, is the holiday traditions keeper?

Just checked. No freebie on 2 of my SBUX Cards.

You have to have a registered card that was used in the thirty days preceding November 1st. The five dollars are going to be loaded on over the course of the first couple weeks in November, or so our DM told us, anyway.

Pat - one of my Baristas already asked me if she could alter her shirt to say Pass the Beer. gah

Any partner cards get loaded out there? Mine wasn't, but I haven't used it for quite a while... Just wondering.

I had that happen to me about 3 months ago. I was so impressed. God knows I go there often enough!

This has happened to me on more than one occasion and i love it. as a huge customer, i feel its a great way to 1. remind me i need more coffee, and 2. keep me loyal 3. another reason i can tell my friends how great starbucks is.

Renaissance_Girl and all the others who think there is an organized plan to these loadings. There is none, not a bit of logic or organization to it. Throwing the change from Howard's desk to whomever might be or not be....

I have had my card loaded from Starbucks several times, the text said the amt depended on how much I have used the card. I got 10.50. This is for my Duetto card. I think it is great. I keep coming back, thus it is good marketing.
