At least they didn't bring in their demon spawn!

anyone know what sbux that is? they say it's on 7th avenue, but i cant identify it. did they need permission from sbux corporate to film inside?

@ Above:
Improv Everywhere films secretly with hidden cameras, so they don't get caught, and thus do not ask permission since most businesses will not allow filming. If you visit their website (improveverywhere.com) and read about their other pranks, you'll see that some of the agents caught filming have gotten into small amounts of trouble.
Yay IE!

That was pretty chill. And I would not mind one bit of someone/some people did that at my store.
Why would you? They're quiet and they bought a drink.
I've had mothers come in on their cell phone and let their kids run around [grabbing all sorts of things and knocking coffee pounds over and eventually ending up behind the counter] all while not buying a single thing. Needless to say we kicked her out after her 2 year old ran onto the floor. He could have gotten burned. End tangent.

Been there, seen that. Before becoming a partner, I've seen a regular at one of my local 'bux come in with a separate 17" flat screen monitor for his ibook, FOR REAL, and work on his graphic design from 9-5 (every day, I might add). So, the idea of bringing a desktop to a Starbucks being a prank would have been completely lost on me, I would have assumed the guy was a just another knucklehead.

I saw one guy used his iMac at the local Tully's last year.

I wish Starbucks and all the other coffee places would turn off the wifi, shut down the ac access and ban the use of phones in their stores. You want an original authentic cafe experience? You want to get 'back to basics' and celebrate the bean? Stop using cafes as offices! Blue Bottle in SF had the commonsense of eliminating wifi and putting the emphasis on great coffee and conversation.

Wow John, really? Starbucks may be trying to return to its roots, but that doesn't mean we're going to stop trying to make our stores the third place. Considering that everyone is now connected, whether it be through wifi or cell phones, I doubt cutting off a customers connection with the world would make them want to come into your store.
By the way, this is epic, I would love to have been working when this happened. Props to improv everywhere.
PS. windows 95 is the icing on the cake.

I saw a woman working her iMac in our store-- it was like a 20in screen. so wouldn't be too surprised if a guy dragged in their tower and monitor. actually i've been thinking about it. haha

First this... next we'll see some local CS & BF2 tourneys or WoW raids... that would be a sight.

Perhaps Starbucks should form a partnership with FedEx/Kinkos so customers wouldn't just be limited to surfing the web. They could also print, ship, drink coffee, fax, conduct a meeting and have a meal.
