Had a frapp at a store near my house today....I threw it away. It was bland and disgusting.

Cafe Nervosa

Mrs. Tillinghamshackles- In all honesty, we only ever have one lid or one shaker at any given time. We order one, we lose the other, or we get zeroed out. Or sometimes it's late at night and everything else has been washed, and nobody feels like going the extra mile for someone who orders their drink in a rude manner. But, like a depressingly few number, I know that the whole kit needs to be sanitized immediately after the fact, and so these things seldom work out.

@notthatcomplicated- The "base" will stick in the cup, that's probably why. Sidenote: Has anybody accidentally gotten base on their counters and tried to clean it up after the fact? The stuff solidifies like no other. It's more than a little horrifying.

@notthat
two tall = venti. should i start making venti's in halves too? its simple math, and really not that complicated.
im also not sure what point you are trying to make with the STCF. that it doesn't come second, or? either way, the strawberry sauce ingredients didn't change, so youre hard pressed to get fresher strawberries out of that. mostly they just got lighter(whiter) and lost almost all strawberry goodness. unless of course you are not making them to recipe. which would explain why in your store 12+12<>24.

re: green tea latte
not sure where that came from, but yes, i think shaken is a good idea for them. stirred never seems to get all the little gritties completely out. and since the long handle spoon is now the dinnerware of satan, it would save us from wasting stir sticks.

re: getting it cold to the bottom.
im sure any good barista understands how to get a drink cold at the bottom, otherwise all of your iced espresso drinks would be lukewarm too.

PhoenixCobra

@Cafe Nervosa - Just throw some hot water onto a dry cloth, or pour some hot water directly onto the hardened base. It comes off like nothing.

I assume you could probably build it all in the cup, but putting into the blender before pumping the base in, as it WILL sink directly to the bottom, and you'll never get all of the base out of the cup, which means bad texture and taste.

Any good barista should know better than that, and just follow the recipe. I find it takes just as much time to prepare, but the blending time has decreased so much! Don't forget to use button 1, and not 2!

As for complaints, go to a store and ask the barista to REALLY follow the recipe. Even ask them to have the recipe card in front of them while they make it. Any frap I've made (and I follow the exact way it's made), I've only ever received positive comments on. I do, however, find the STCF much more watery than it used to be, which is kind of disappointing.

Most baristas just need some time to get used to it. It's a pain, yes. I do two drinks at a time (we only have two blenders). That's it. That avoids confusion when I have a line of new cups to my right, and cups to my left sitting at the blender.

I still much prefer espresso bar though. I can rock it out like no other.

lovethenewfrapps

@Cafe Nervosa YES!! Makes you wonder what it does to your insides. yikes! :)

lovethenewfrapps

@shift...erm, no offensive but posturing doesn't make your posts of more value. The new STCF DO taste fresher. Which is what they said. TASTE. The berry flavor really pops now.

Starbucks, imho, is FANTASTIC for my diet. A Grande Mocha Light Frap has under 150 calories, very little fat, and no HFCS (if that's still the case). Other than that, a nonfat latte, say a nonfat Mocha, has 220 calories. These are all doable on a low-cal diet when a sugar-caffeine craving hits. Before discovering fraps, I'd crave ice cream in teh afternoons. Um let's see, a tennis ball-sized scoop of lowfat ice cream for 150 calories or an entire 16-ounce, sweet, creamy drink for the same.
Starbucks, FTW. People, actually READ nutrition info before castigating all fast-food or coffee places. This is why Americans are fat: they can't READ.

umno

any other skinny latte only has 90 cals...(tall size)

@lovethenewfraps

we talk about work here. you will notice a lot of people use their positions in their names becuase it helps build a frame of reference when reading others opinions or situations. for example, a labor discussion will be taken differently from a barista than from an SM. i am sorry if it made you feel inferior. but have no worries, i don't think it would be necessary to point out your shortcomings twice, since you did just refer to solidifying your innards with three exclamation points and a smiley face.

Also, just becuase you read that the new STCF is like totally custom and way fresher and stuff so it like, totally pops with yum, doesn't mean that i have to agree with your flavor codependency. I still believe its disappointing it's potential.

noneedtobeabitch

No one feels inferior....you have attempted to make yourself superior, but it hasn't really worked. Your position (a shift, just a shift)does not make you better than anyone.

noneedtobeabitch

@shift...I wanted to come and apologize. I don't know you. I don't know what you are going through, or where you are coming from. Please forgive my various catty attacks. Thank you for your passion, regardless if I agree w/ how you display that.

I'm a pretty laid back barista. I'll try to follow all the rules, but I know bend somne so we can serve customers better. But MAKE THE DRINKS RIGHT!! Whoever has done BR2 knows the stupid repeatable routine works! NEw frapps are a hit if you make 1 at a time and do it right! since frapp and br2 rollouts, my CV has gone up by at least 10 % points in ALL CATEGORIES b/c my wait times are less and the drinks are better! And we still have fun. Imagine that. Just lay off my back about my sucky via sales

I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the new Frap recipe!!! I have tried the "new" version 8 times and it still tastes like CRAP. They should start calling it the Crappucino, cuz that's more like it. I loved the old version and I wasn't going into a Starbucks and tossing $4.50 onto their counters because I wanted to be "healthy". Pleeeeeasssseeee, nothing in there is "healthy". I would love to find their R & D folks and Marketing people and give them all a good kick in the pants. They will lose about $400 this summer in sales from me; imagine what everyone else who hates these new creations will do to their bottom line? REFUSE to buy the new Crappucino~!

Sorry to hear about your frustrations with poker, but i guess thats the nature of the game. Doing everything right, and still losing is extremely difficult to overcome, but maybe taking a break and spending time away from tournament poker will allow you to be refreshed and rejuvenated, and remember why you love tournament poker so much. Best of luck.

Green Glue

Don't confuse Green Glue which is a soundproofing damping compound with Green tea which is a health drink.

Unfortunately, in our modern society of healthy people practically isn't present, any of us (even very much young men) has obvious or latent problems with health, and, more often, their whole "bouquet", which if don't prove already now will necessarily be shown with the years...

What girls are preferred by you? Love girls with elastic forms, graceful bends of a figure, blondes with darlings, tender faces of an angel or, maybe, prefer magnificent and hot, how fire, brunettes who can deliver violent pleasure to the real judge of female beauty?

There are people extremely presented, but not able to dispose of the abilities reasonably. One business — congenital gift, another — ability to operate him. Two persons equally presented, can be moral are absolutely not similar, and each of them after the own fashion uses the talent released to him.

It is surprising, as it is peculiar to the person to preserve the image against worship which would make his ridiculous or черезчур far from the original, that is why improbable.
