* Chenoweth griping on Twitter. June 28 5:45 p.m.: I love starbucks. But sometimes employees don't care and are rude.
* Another 5:45 p.m. tweet: Dalia at starbucks 7th and 31st. Be nice!!!!!
* June 29 12:42 a.m. tweet: Megan from Missouri! [She must be the "Starbucks manager."] Thank you! I love starbucks (heck I even sing a song about it! Haha) and would to see it go down. Xxooxoxoxoxo
* What's the fall-out here? Was Dalia fired? Get dressed-down? Let's hear from NYC 7th Ave./31st St. Starbucks employees.
Who cares? She's more annoying than Kathy Griffin.

I think any initial rudeness was more than countered by Heliumvoice McNopants' douchetastic twit.

Anyone who has ever encountered Kristin Chenoweth in person knows what a demanding, rude "celebrity" she can be. If you do not treat her like a celebrity you are being "rude" in her eyes. I can only imagine the service she was given at Starbucks, but it was probably great service but without a "Hey! Aren't you...?" recognition that she thrives off of.

I don't think anybody can be fired over an anecdote heard on a late night talk show.

7th & 31st is the store near my office. The staff and organization at that location are both fantastic.

Wow maybe the Barista was having a bad day? Maybe her mom has cancer or her dog just died. Maybe Kristen could have been the bigger person and just forgot about it. What a B****!

Kristin came into my Starbucks (UWS) a few years ago to get Starbucks cards for her staff. If I remember right, she got a bunch of $5 cards. She was perfectly pleasant.

Everyone needs to stop talking bad about my Cheno, she's perfect.

Have we finally discovered the true identity of green cup?
Posted by: ex-sbuxmanager | July 19, 2010 at 03:46 PM
I've personally served her before, and she was delightful. She also came into the store very incognito, not demanding to be treated like any other person. I know, as a barista, I've wanted to call out customers publicly, so why shouldn't customers, famous or not, be able to do the same thing?
Posted by: AliCat | July 19, 2010 at 03:55 PM
An acquaintance of mine goes to that particular Starbucks, has "dealt" with Dalia before and says she IS a rude, nasty barista. Kristin is known for being one of the kindest people in the entertainment industry, both on Broadway and in Hollywood. Sometimes, when you've dealt with bad service over & over, it's time to make waves.

No one is jealous, lets all treat each other with kindness and respect. If this Barista was rude her manager will deal with her, we don't need to be talking about her here. If i go into a store and get less than stellar service i chalk it up to the person having a bad day. Starbucks Barista's are usually very friendly and nice. Aren't there more important things to worry about?

While I am sure at least one out of the few hundred thousand employees we have can be rude I would like to point out that it takes quite an entitled person to call somebody out on national television. So in a sense, they are both possibly out of line. It takes two people to argue after all.

Whoa - I didn't post that comment at 7-19 at 4:01 pm. There's another Melody. ?

Well, Melody, I am the original Venti Urnex Latte, and I saw recently that some imposter had appropriated my name!
Posted by: Venti Urnex Latte (the original and best) | July 19, 2010 at 05:33 PM
Let me know when people steal your established user names. I'll delete posts and ban them.
Posted by: Starbucks Gossip Webmaster | July 19, 2010 at 06:11 PM
Webmaster, before deleting or banning anyone for using the same name as a long time poster (particularly Melody, which someone could easily be using because its their own given name) I think you ought to make sure they're actually trying to impersonate someone else. Would it be possible to go in and edit the poster's name instead? I'm guessing you might have thought of that too since you haven't yet deleted the other Melody post, but there's my 2 cents.

If it's the Dalia I am thinking of, she's somewhat infamous for being difficult to work with. Not that either side is right or wrong but if it's that particular Dalia, uhh...yeah.
Posted by: anon | July 19, 2010 at 09:13 PM
Thank you, Jim Webmaster. I haven't read much or posted for three months, but I noticed that someone who was not me had posted under my name, Venti Urnex Latte, in the "baby scalded by hot tea" thread.
Aaron, you make a valid point. I would, however, suggest that Venti Urnex Latte is not someone's given name, as the name Melody might be.
Posted by: Venti Urnex Latte | July 19, 2010 at 10:04 PM
I've no idea who this is, but, as anyone who's worked behind the counter knows, there's a lot of nastiness coming in from the other side of the bar.
Sometimes, a little bit gets absorbed, and bounces back.
Sometimes, it's even deflected onto undeserving innocents. Oops.
Regardless of one's treatment by a working-wage barista, as a hollywood celebrity with a popuplar social media site, I would exercise discretion and not call out a person BY NAME for all the world to see. That's poor form.
Posted by: Argentius | July 20, 2010 at 12:15 PM
While the Barista may have been at fault, Kristen i think you are despicable!!!
Posted by: Emily | July 20, 2010 at 02:33 PM
I think its funny when customers say they'll never come to such-and-such a Starbucks again and then the next day they are in the Starbucks a few blocks over. Don't they realize that all the money goes together in the end really?

This is one of the many reasons I hate celebrities. Just because she's a celebrity and she posts about this on her stupid twitter and this employee is publically humiliated. I don't care if she is just a generally hard person to work with, I shouldn't know that. I live in NY not Missouri and this stupid celebrity has exposed her to me.
I'm an ex-barista and now a fulltime customer. I feel like most people wouldn't make such a huge deal about this. Barista's work really hard!
Even before this I've always hated movies with Kristin Chenoweth in them! I guess now I see why.
p.s. I hope there isn't anyone else named Jazz I'm not trying to be them. 1st post ever.

The word is Tweet! Twitted sounds like something you do with the door closed at night.

I think Twit is what Kristen C is.....

"The word is Tweet! Twitted sounds like something you do with the door closed at night. "
why? it's called Twitter why isn't it a twit or twitted. These new communication sites are so dumb. I'm 22 and I don't see the point. I absolutely hate the fact that they refer to Lindsay Lohan's twitter on the NEWS!
