What is the standard for when to give away a drink free in the Drive Thru? 5 minute wait?

In my experience its rather subjective, if there were multiple large orders ahead of you causing the delay, maybe not a comp-ed drink. If the delay was caused by our screw up, likely a comp-ed drink.
In high volume drive thru you may well be waiting 5+ minutes with a long line thats moving briskly, each case is different so respond accordingly.

Open thread so random topic: I walked into my neighborhood Bux in Chicago today and am here at a different time of day than usual. Now, I understand that the baristas behind the bar have probably been here since opening, but wow is one of these girls ever cranky!! It sounds cliche and I know we all complain about corporate rules and things of that nature...the whole meet and greet suprise delight thing...but I really missed it today! The two girls behind the counter didn't look up to make eye contact with me, continued bitching about a personal problem that they'd been talking about, and then one of them looked at me, no pleasantries, and curtly said "what're you having." She grabbed my coffee and threw the bag with the scone in it on the counter, took my payment, and the only thing I heard after I said "thanks!" was her bitching again to her friend about how tired she was.
I dunno. It was just suprising how unpleasant she was, I guess.

Free drinks??? Seriously??? Ive sat in a drive-thru line for over 10 mins. and wasn't offered a free drink..nor would I have expected it...there were 15 cars in front of me. If I am # 35 in line..I am aware of the fact that there are 35 people in front of me and it might take a few to get my drink..do I expect it free..nope, it was my choice to wait in line. Who are you people giving out free stuff because you are actually busy???

If your store recently got upgraded to symphony than your labor has indeed changed - corporate just isn't telling people up front about that.
That said, I refuse to be held accountable if ecosure comes in and we blow it during a period of 2 person deployment with a line to the door. Sorry...

All warehouses are out of XMA by the beginning of next week (UPS shipments go out at that time, and that's the last of it). @datedotit--What details do you have on the Simphony/labor earning claim?

Really? Skinny Caramel Macchiato? After all those years of pounding the Sugar-Free Vanilla Non-Fat Caramel Macchiato into the guests and explaining that it is not a skinny beverage, hence I will not call it out as one.
Honestly I couldn't agree more.. But what gets me is that people come in, they order a drink any drink.. Let's say a pumpkin spice just to name one and want it skinny. Seriously people? The only thing skinny about that drink is the N/F milk. But they get upset with you for not being able to make it more skinnier for them....
