Starbucks customers in India wait 20 minutes or more to get into a crowded store

Starbucks is a hit in India, according to a Times of India story.

"It's like a Bollywood set," one customer says of SBUX stores' ambiance.

"It's cool to be seen there," notes another.

But lines are ridiculously long and many people don't want to wait, so they pop into nearby independent cafes and longstanding chains. These "Starbucks orphans," as the don't-want-to-wait customers are called in India, boosting the fortunes of those stores.
