I asked the man behind STARBUCKSCARDS.COM why he started the site. Christopher Higgs explained: "I've been a huge Starbucks fan for about 4 years and always enjoyed picking up a new Starbucks card when they appeared in my local stores (Toronto). I've only recently started collecting the cards formally through eBay auctions, etc. and currently only have about 20 different cards, but will be expanding that over time.
"When I first started collecting, I searched for a checklist that I could rate my collection against. I'd love to know every card issued in each country, the date the cards were issued, retired, local "special" cards, etc. I couldn't find such a list so I created this site to try to establish a resource base for myself and other collectors. I'm not in this to sell cards, etc., so I don't see this site becoming a commerce site. I'm going to post front/back pictures of all my cards as well as the special holders that Starbucks issued to go with some of them. My hope is that when others start collecting these cards, they will be able to use this site. I'd like to build as complete a "checklist" as quickly as possible (with sample pictures) so that others can use this information as a resource." (Visit StarbucksCards.com.)

I had no idea that this card would be worth something until I went to use it at my Starbucks. The clerk went bonkers and wanted to buy it from me! I decided I'd look into it first. It's the "Aspire" one and I have the sleve too, in perfect condition. Anyone know what it's worth right now?

I have been trying to find the site starbuckscards.com but it said that it is no longer available. Has the name changed or has it moved to another site?? I'd like a resource that tells me what cards are hot-- how to buy and sell them and what the best way to get them would be. thanks

I have just seen an english collection for sale on ebay the seller of the collection says that the Big Ben card that he has was only issued in London for the record this is not true as I live in the city of Leeds and the Starbucks cafes had dozens of them at all of their outlets so to all collectors I would like to say dont pay big money for the cards as they are more common than people are saying.

I AM SOOOOOOO SORRY!
This was a wonderful site, and I will be sorry to see it go.
It was never intended to act as a commercial zone for people to trade cards.
Once the floodgates are open, and they appear to be. This site will be swamped with every type of legitimate collector, to bottom feeder, looking to scam some unsuspecting individual.
THERE ARE SO MANY RISKS INVOLVED TRADING WITH TOTAL STRANGERS.
WHAT GUARANTEE IS THERE THAT THE TRADE WILL EVER BE SUCCESSFUL?
WHO CAN YOU COMPLAIN TO?
If this is to be STOPPED before it becomes a NIGHTMARE- PLEEEEEEASE- DO NOT PERMIT SOLICITATIONS TO TRADE STARBUCKS CARDS ON THIS SITE!

eBay eBay eBay-
PLEASE everyone, before trading, or offering an item- check eBay for historical information about values.
Just use "STARBUCKS CARD"
and you can look at current auctions, and offerings, and by going to left sidebar, and clicking "COMPLETED LISTINGS", you'll be able to look at what's happened in the past thirty days
While there are many honest people out there. There are a few who will do nothing more than look for an opportunity to rip someone else off.
To many, a STARBUCKS CARD is nothing more than a piece of plastic.
As someone who has bought sold, and traded STARBUCKS Cards for the past seven years- let me state clearly- "NOT ALL STARBUCKS CARDS ARE CREATED EQUAL!!!!!"
I too also owned a STARBUCKS "Valid ONLY in Canada" Double Shot Barista Card. Mine sold for US$494.oo in 2006!
I only know of two others that have come to market.
I sold my MERCHANDISE CREDIT CARD for US$228.88 in November of 2006
The last DOLPHINS card I sold also sold for US$228.88 with the original folder, and brochure.
Though I haven't owned an ASPIRE CARD- they regularly trade in the US$50 range with their original folder.
Cards from overseas- especially the earliest SPANISH CARD are in excess of US$500.
I think people here would be amazed at what some cards have sold for in the past month, and eBay is an excellent reference.
PAST SALES REPRESENT REAL NUMBERS-
PLEASE- research what you have- you may be quite surprised!
HERE ARE REAL NUMBERS:
Starbucks Vancouver Rewards Pilot Gold Gift Card RARE US$825.oo
ULTRA RARE - Starbucks Gold Card Vancouver Pilot US$810.oo
Starbucks Card RARE San Diego Zoo FLAMINGO with sleeve US$160.27
Starbucks Spain "City Skate" gift card EME-128 US$140.00
Starbucks card, 'CARRIBEAN' Very Rare,NEW!! LIMITED!! US$127.50
STARBUCKS "caribbean" collectors gift card US$97.70
Starbucks Japan - Starbucks Card Dolphin RARE! US$69.88
Starbucks Card RARE mint Valentines 2002 w/ sleeve US$68.79
AMAZING ISN'T IT !!!!!
The above are REAL NUMBERS- not just out of catalog. REAL people paid those amounts for those items, in the conditions as described in their respective auctions.

For gods sake STARBUCKSCARDS, or whoever you actually are... If people want to trade cards, just let them. I have been trading with people all over the world LONG before there even was a such thing as Starbucks Cards. If people want to trade them, that is their own D*mn business. Quit Trying to scare people into coming to eBay to buy from you. I have encountered FAR more thief's and cheats on eBay than I ever have in trading with people.
Collecting these cards is NOT about money, and if you think it is, maybe you should rethink the hobby. The cards are ultimately worthless, so trading them is really the best way to make this hobby fun and enjoyable. Otherwise you are just buying worthless plastic...
