Damian Good writes: "I do think that since the Starbucks in question was on university property, Baylor had the right to say what goes; but I also think that, since the university has allowed Starbucks, a private, independent company, to set up shop on its campus, Baylor should also realize it is accepting all the influences that shop brings." (Seattle Times)
So, did Baylor put a clause into their licensing contract that stated they got to approve every quote on every cup? How about every article in every newspaper sold? Or the advertising copy that Starbucks puts on its retail items? Where does it end?
I think they are just being paranoid and silly.

The Senseo single serve coffeemaker and their pods are AWFUL. However, the Bunn Single Serve coffee maker is fantastic and it also does the Starbucks espresso pods. (Unlike the Senseo.) I would link to it but I'm sure you'd want to add your code. (It's $199 on amazon.) Great site :)

I went to Baylor, '93 through '97, worst 4 years of my life to be honest with you. During my days (damn that sounds like I'm a grandpa already), we were not allowed to have on campus dances...I'm serious. Fraternities/sororities were not allowed on-campus living so basically a bunch of brothers/sisters had to rent a house together. It was so backwards compared to UT(austin) or UT(dallas), it was scary. We worry about Islamic fundamentalists but in Texas, all you have are Christian fundamentalists. Prayer in school, required courses included Old and New Testament (one which I barely passed LOL) and wow...talk about kissing on campus. Clinton's getting a BJ in the oval office and students can't even make out in the library...pathetic. FVCK Baylor...its the one degree I don't hang up in my office.

Then why did you go there?
One graduate=alumnus or alumnae
More than one graduate=alumni

it's funny how many people i hear give speeches at my prestigous university (the university of british columbia) and use the term "i am an alumni of ..." i just started to assume that, while incorrect grammatically, 'alumni' now refered to the singular.
it's refreshing to hear that there are still people in this world who understand the root of this word.
as for the senso coffee maker, i'm surprised that there wasn't an opportunity to comment given to that post. perhaps the starbucks gossip team were worried we'd be up in arms about them advertising a non-starbucks related product on their site.
i haven't tried that particular product, but i had a similar type of machine in the office where i worked last year. the coffee was palatable, but no where near the quality of a starbucks cup of coffee. convenient, yes, but the ammount of waste that it created from three or four of us in a week was appaling.

Maybe bayloralumni didn't realize it was horrible until too late. That's what happened with my college. :(
