Their first date was at a Starbucks 18 months ago. Have you had similar "special events" at your store? (WesternMorningNews.co.uk)
Not affiliated with Starbucks Corporation (obviously)
At a friend of mine's wedding, the whole wedding party stopped at Starbucks on the way to the reception. Probably about 40-50 people dressed to the nines (including bride and groom) getting a pick-me up.
Not so much to remember the first date but just because we all spent our lives at Starbucks so it only seemed appropriate.

There was a rumor that Starbucks' favorite celebrity Britney Spears (back when she had at least half a brain) wanted to have Starbucks products at her wedding reception.

I can think of about a million classier places to have a wedding reception. I'm gay and at this rate, won't be any time soon. I love Starbucks to death, but that sounds like a white trash wedding reception to me!!!

at my old store a couple came in in their wedding outfits with the party in tow. they stood in various places throughout the store snapping pics. they ordered no drinks. it was quite random and fucked up.

My wife and I had our California reception at a Starbucks. We were married in Minnesota at a very nice place. Some of our family and friends in California couldn't make it out to the wedding so we threw a party at Starbucks. I had worked there for about eight years, and it was great. We had a DJ, catered food and an open coffee bar. It was different, but there were no complaints and we had a great time.

I haven't seen any weddings come in yet, but we've had Bridal Showers, and there's a ladies group that does a tea about once a month. We also seem to do a bit of catering-ish activities for people's home events.

Yes, Kara from Real World Chicago met her present husband at my Starbucks. A friend of hers made the entire staff sign a Congratulations Card when she got married.

BaristaBess, I am interested in your mentioned 'catering-ish events.' I am planing my wedding and would LOVE to have Starbucks catered at my wedding. Having a coffee bar set up at the reception would be fabulous! Any ideas how to go about doing this? I've looked online and can't find any information. Let me know - THANKS!
