Suggestion for Starbucks: Offer your cards in keychain format
I like how Caribou Coffee gives you a choice: a wallet card or keychain. Does Starbucks have a keychain-card in the works? Let us know, insiders. (Feel free to suggest other card improvements.)
As a former barista I just see this being problems..
People leave kids in the car; with the car on.. "oh I'm sorry I seem to have left my keys in my car.. with my Starbucks card...."
keys routinely hitting the P.O.S. machine. scratch. ding. broken.
Cards really do get banged up pretty well on a keyfob.
It seems to me that Starbucks customers are just "trying to be cool" by thinking of things "ahead of the game" which is really what Starbucks is all about.
People need to realize that Starbucks is a place of retail just like anywhere else.
The baristas are people too. Most of us enjoy interacting with customers and being treated like a person; not a robot.
Unfortunately many people are on this GO GO GO routine and have never considered purchasing an espresso machine of their own for most days of the week when they're in a hurry for work.
Or that more gadgets and gizmos does not make everything better.
Perhaps the person that wants to put a Starbucks card on a keychain has never thought of the fact that maybe, justtt maybe the barista would get tired of getting their hands torn up by keys, Swiss army knives, broken keychains and god knows what else people carry around on their key fobs these days...
Cause you know us female baristas loveeee having banged bruised and cut up fingernails...
I guess all I can say is that I went from a regular loyal Starbucks customer, to a barista, and back out into the world with a whole new perspective on it.
These people just need to have their Starbucks card all loaded up, in their hand and not at the bottom of their ginourmous Coach purse while they are on the phone in line at Starbucks.
If a Starbucks card keychain is really all we can think about here.. something needs to be reevaluated.
Thanks for listening.

Here in Kuala Lumpur, my local store has a normal counter then a special 'frappucino bar', this saves so much time! Here the weathers alot hotter, so demand for coffee is lower, however tourists and most business men sometimes go for hot drinks, so the lines are usually equal but alot shorter than ques ive been at in S'bucks in UK and USA. Very good idea in my opinion :]

WTF is with a large majority of americans requesting their beverage be "DOUBLE CUPPED"
We provide you with cup sleeves that are made from 80% recycled and just as effective as a second environment wasting cup.
Not only that, but they also demand, after removing the lid on a takeaway cup and placing it momentarily on *something* that they now require another NEW plastic lid...
I dont care if you like to overuse and pollute your own country, but please...
Its all the one world...
We also do prove bins also.. feel free to use them?

I vote "NO" on keychain cards for Starbucks or for any other store for that matter. I've got enough keys on my keychain, and don't want the clutter of more cards, trinkets, and other stuff on my keychain.
I'm a regular Starbucks person, and I've already gone through 3 or 4 Starbucks cards b/c the swipe wears out over time. If there's a way to make those more durable, that'd be a good move for a heavy user like me :)

card + standard hole punch = keychain...
this has really no use, especially in drive stores, since your keys are in your ignition....?

>>>>>I CARRY AROUND A REUSABLE MUG NOT TO WASTE THE STUPID PAPER CUPS!
I was devastated to realize that taking a reuseable mug to my local Starbucks was pointless. I heard one barista telling a new employee, "Even when they bring in a personal cup, take a paper one and mark it..." So I started paying attention, and sure enough, the last time I was there they threw a cup away after making mine. I was going everyday. Now I'm going back to french press at home. I don't mind spoiling myself, but not at the cost of spoiling the environment.
