Starbucks said Wednesday its fiscal first-quarter profit rose 2% on strong international sales, beating Wall Street's expectations. Same-store sales, or sales at locations open at least one year, rose 1%. The company also announced it will close 100 underperforming U.S stores and expects "low double-digit" earnings-per-share growth in 2008. (Reuters.com)

What is a good weekly figure for a store?

18k is a slow store. I think my store makes between 25-28k a week.

scary. my store makes 18-19k a week, now a new store is opening here next week and its probably going to take some of our business away (I live in a small town)

Vicki:
I heard that some LA stores are already slated for closure-I think around USC...Not positive, but heard that yesterday.
Re store numbers-A REALLY slow store in SoCal can do 9-13,000-the busiest store in my area does 40,000+.
