Don't you just love it when multi-millionaires like CNBC's Jim Cramer make believe they are tightening their belts? Cramer's beef isn't just with the price; "I got served the wrong cup of coffee the other day, without an apology." So now, 'I'll be drinking an extra-large Dunkin' coffee. It’s at least a buck cheaper than Starbucks." If any NYC/NJ SBUX baristas see Cramer in their store, let me know (with time, dates, photo if possible). ||

Oh, i wouldn't argue the point that we are winning economically. Starbucks has made some stupid decisions, our products are probably overpriced, and we're suffering accordingly. But, I stick to my guns that Starbucks generally wins in quality and flavor (for coffee lovers).
For my taste, Dunkins coffee is simply too weak! It's not that I don't understand why it is popular, though. And their service is certainly faster.
Oh, and the fact that you sent me to Dunkins website as "proof" of their superiority doesn't tell me much. A taste test orchestrated by one of the involved companies is likely not an impartial taste test. Plus, you can't just believe everything you read on a company's website. It's not like I believe everything Starbuck's tells me either...

You should get what you pay for...and while many people cited Starbucks as being worth it for the "experience" - that's the problem. There is NO added value these days!!
I have 2 stores walking distance from my office. They are interchangeable in terms of experience, although one has a bit of an edge on drink quality. The baristas don't seem happy to be there, drink quality is often hit or miss, and the food quality is awful. I remember the early days of everyone bashing licensed concepts, and they still do, but I have to tell you at least I get a smile and more often than not, a much better drink!
Once upon a time a bad cup of Starbucks was still better than something from a competitor. That is just not the case anymore: Starbucks did a great job of raising the bar, and their competitors responded.

No one will ever see Cramer in a Starbucks anywhere as he gets limoed in everyday. But that would make quite the statement with his limo going through the DD drivethru.....
