There've been many Starbucks-related items that I've passed on posting at StarbucksGossip.com for a number of reasons. But now these "leftovers" will be posted at the new Starbucks Gossip Twitter site found at www.twitter.com/sbuxgossip . Join the hundreds who've TWITTER.COM/SBUXGOSSIP followers!
Jim, you are the best! So much Starbucks news these days. And now you are filtering it into tiers of importance. Way to go!

Really? I don't think the negativity and snarkiness of sg is going to translate well to Twitter. Besides, it just looks like a lame rss feed so far.

Anon -- You obviously don't understand Twitter.

I hate to admit it, but I'm not really sure I understand twitter either Jim. It sort of looks like I'm reading half of a conversation.

@WebmasterJim - So on Twitter, it looks like I could reply to an update but only you can start one, which makes sense to me.
Last night I went to www.proxyvote.com and voted my shares of Starbucks stock. I assume others here might want to do the same. There are 2 new director nominees*. I'm still not totally sure of the significance of that at all.
On 1-22-09 Starbucks mailed out the notice of internet proxy material - there's a 12 or 14 digit control number which gets you into www.proxyvote.com - a very easy way to vote! This notice document also serves as your ticket into the annual meeting on 3-18-09.
* Kevin Johnson & Sheryn Sandberg are the new BOD nominees:

Melody, Twitter is a "microblog" and allows only 140 characters per item. You can "follow" my feeds and get alerted to new posts. You'll see the follow button on the page. Here's one explanation of Twitter:

Oh ... thanks for the clarification STARBUCKS GOSSIP WEBMASTER ...
Why don't you have the twitter.com/starbucksgossip screen name? That kind of makes it hard to find.
So ... what do you think of the twitter.com/starbucks account? It seems like they're really active on it lately.

Jim, I have a twitter suggestion. Can you add the source to each item? For example:
Sbux adds kiwi-flavored syrup. (Beverage World)
Sbux considers charging a penny per napkin. (Seattle PI)
Sbux to make drinks with 50/50 milk/water mixture, reducing costs by half. (WSJ)
Thank you.

Melody -
Yep, I went to proxyvote.com and voted too.

Why won't the twitter page come up? The link sends me to the page and all I can see is a blue screen with clouds. No text.

Jim - Webmaster -
Why doesn't the twitter page come up for me? It use to...but today I only see a blue screen with clouds.
Posted by: lattegal | February 16, 2009 at 07:41 PM
It worked for me using this URL.
http://twitter.com/sbuxgossip
Posted by: STARBUCKS GOSSIP WEBMASTER | February 17, 2009 at 07:04 AM
However, I got the blank page when I clicked on the URL in the post. It looks like you'll have to manually enter twitter.com/sbuxgossip
Consider clicking on FOLLOW so you get alerts when new items are posted.
