One of the complaints at MyStarbucksIdea.com: "I understand that SB wanted to make the Frappachinos more customizable, but the new one does not taste anywhere close to the old one, it has a terrible aftertaste and it made me (and a few others I know) sick to my stomach." (I love the various Frappuccino misspellings.)

I've been a frappuccino fan since I worked for Starbucks 10 years ago. Always the same drink, most mornings for ten years. Just a plain coffee frap. I've had two of the new ones, and they are icky! The new coffee flavoring falls out of the mix really fast, making it impossible to drink without constantly stirring it. The color of the drink looks gross, and it tastes like artificial sweetener. Even my husband noticed that the drink looked different, and didn't look good at all. Plus, I ordered mine with skim milk, and they made it with whole anyway, and it took them about three times as long to get it made! I will not be craving a frappuccino anytime soon, which is sad because it is the only thing I usually ordered from there and I've been a very regular customer. Time to find a new coffee shop! And thank goodness for the things in the bottles!

If you only knew what you were talking about. You are the person that started going to Starbucks because everyone else did you follower! When I started the company back in '97, we did Frapps a different way than you know, actually brewing double strength Italian roast to add to them, and it officially put Starbucks on the map. They eventually switched to a powder base, which made me and probably a lot of other people that really "knew" coffee to stop liking them. Now the coffee taste in the new one has the most similar coffee taste as the old one's did and now I don't mind having one every now and then. Until you know what you are really talking about, then keep your little whiny comments to yourself and the Starbucks that you go to that is probably sick of looking at you. Just sayin.

Am still in mourning over the demise of the "Old" coffee frap light. The barista's have tried customizing and given me their formula, but not an enjoyable experience. Adios, SB

I absolutely hate the new Frappuccino. Hate it. It tastes horrible and the texture is awful. Even when extra scoops of flavoring is added (Vanilla Bean, for example) it still doesn't taste like it should. I don't know how on Earth this new formulation made it through quality control, but it is a complete failure. I will never drink another Frappuccino in its current iteration.

I too hate the new Frapps. They are way too sickeningly sweet, has a medicinal aftertaste, and even with my usual shot of espresso, can't taste much of the coffee flavor. I tried getting "used" to it. Some locations, or rather baristas, made it almost tolerable but more times than not, I'd take a sip and be blown away by the awful fake sweetness and aftertaste.
I've decided today that I will no longer go there. Not only is this new Frapp disgusting, it's a watery runny mess, not to mention they raised the price. I remember paying 3.45 for the longest time for a tall with a shot of espresso but now, it is 3.85. Pay more for something that tastes like crap?
No thanks SBux.

After drinking the Frap with Stevia my heart beat was abnormal. I thought it was all in my head. Tried it three times and had terrible reactions with my heart palpitating. I looked up reactions to Stevia and sure enough, I'm taking a medicine that can't be mixed with this plant. I'm sure others are having the same problem. It can cause heart and blood pressure changes. Not good of Starbucks to put the public at risk like this.

I agree with the original gripe. The "new" frap recipe tastes absolutely nothing like the original recipe and definitely leaves a bitter/sour aftertaste that is not appetizing. The new beverage recipe also doesn't taste like coffee anymore, it has a pronounced flavor of butterscotch, or caramel... which is not what I am seeking in a coffee frap.

oh no! The "new" frappachino has just made it to the UK - ITS AWFUL!!!!! I've tried 4 different flavours hoping that it would taste better but no. What is starbucks thinking!?!??!!

Customizable? I got no SS, it was still too sweet. No dairy to balance the flavor. Didn't taste good until I added half and half and stirred and then it was barely acceptable. (But, true, it stayed "consistent" during this, because food should have all the properties we expect in a dimestore shaving cream.)
It really tasted like crap and the change of formula explains it. I love milkshakes and frappes but the frappuccino is a frappe no more... it's some sort of weird kelp cup like they give you at BK, or, lately, at McDonald's. (McD's has also lost my business until they come to their senses. Why would you RUIN the milkshake to cut costs & then add expensive W/C on top & a cherry & make it a PITA for the employee? I'm certainly not paying all that so I can spoon off the whipped cream and then throw out the nasty "shake". Ugh.)
I guess if I have a coffee frap' craving (I won't), I'll go to Arby's for a Jamocha shake and save me $2 and the sour taste of disappointment. I know the Jamocha is an oversugared dairy slop thickened with boiled seaweed jelly. It doesn't pretend to be an affogato or whatever.

Just gonna add that I have a local place that sells ice cream and coffee and offers to put ice cream in anything... so I had them put allspice ice cream into some drip coffee and blend it into a thickshake. Ohhhh, yeahhhhh...

I noticed a difference and looked at the expiration date. That was fine. Then I saw 290 calories. OH HERE WE GO. If I was worried about by my calorie intake I wouldn't be drinking frappuccinos. At least give a choice. NOT ALL OF US ARE ON A DIET. No more frappuccinos for me. That sucked.

Why won't they just bring back the old frapp to some locatiOns then they will see a huge spike in sales and realize the huge mistake they made.... It's been years and I still want it back! In Michigan you can get Starbucks icecream which is low fat and tastes just like the old coffee frapp but I live in Canada so that won't work!

The frappuccinos are okay. Sure, they taste good but I sure do miss the old ones. They had more substantialness to them..they were a solid drink. The drinks they serve today are just a li

ok, had to start over..have a new computer that I haven't figured out how to type on yet! wanted to say about the frappaccinos: they are less substantial now than they were. now they just seem to flavored water. I've seen them make the mix..it is basically flavored water! it's yucky! and yet I still order them...but I also still miss the old fraps! they were more like a shake. coffee flavored shake.
