He walked on water at Starbucks -- and then the bosses started hassling him
Dear Starbucks Gossip: I worked for Starbucks for 12 years. Very loyal, always high reviews. As far as my managers were concerned I pretty much walked on water. I have had numerous health issues (cancer, hip replacement, radiation damage). My...

Frappuccino gripe: "Why would Starbucks 'fix' something that's not broken?"
Absolute mayhem, MUCH worse than the 25cent coffee apocalypse.
This shit was crazy, it was madness... my hands (i wore gloves to grab berries cause it was faster than scooping) and it looked blood red, I looked like effing Dexter, or a lunatic that murders with his hands.
My store (very high volume) served about 470 refreshers.
Apparently if you work in the financial district people that earn more than 6 figures have all the time in the world to wait for free effing drinks.

I don't even remember how many times I had to tell people it was one per person. "But my brother's friend's mom is at home and she neeeeeeeeeds one". Then tell her to get here and get one.

Sooo many unhappy customers due to the severe understaffing. I felt bad for the people waiting forever for their free drinks, let alone the people who paid for their typical coffee drinks (hey, when did we become a coffee store?).

We were understaffed which made yesterday stressful! One person on bar, with only ONE shaker in the store and one person on R1 with me floating doing my best to assist bar by lidding the drinks and handing them off.
The most irritating was with a queue of 30 drinks people yelling at me to change their order and turning them down because it was too hectic to figure out where the fell a midst the 30 CLR's and BHR's in queue.
Same thing with Guat,my,mala..."my co worker wants one" "my sister is in the car." Sorry, only one, they can come in and get themselves one.
Also, I had a lot of parents coming in and ordering them for their 8 year olds, even with me telling them that they are caffeinated. I know it's not my place to do/say anything or parent your kids, but I don't think little kids need that much caffeine.
Overall it was stressful but my team was full of rockstars and we plowed through it, even though the customer waited so long for their drinks.

Mine wouldn't have been so bad if there hadn't have been 6-7 item Frappuccino orders intermixed with all the freebies. "oh can you break $100?" My new barista on register was a rockstar though, kept her cool and wrote all the drinks correctly. Props to her!

I went to 3 different Starbucks in the greater Seattle area during that timeframe and there were no lines AT ALL.
Although, one Starbucks had the refreshers "pre-made" so it didn't have that just-shaken freshness factor.
Can't complain when it's free!
